At Alchemy Collective, we provide expert treatment for the full spectrum of dissociative disorders, including Other Specified Dissociative Disorder (OSDD), depersonalization/derealization disorder, and dissociative experiences that occur with other conditions. Our therapists understand dissociation as an adaptive response to overwhelming experiences, particularly trauma, that can persist and create challenges long after the original threatening situations have passed.

Dissociative disorders exist on a continuum of severity and presentation. OSDD (formerly DDNOS) includes presentations similar to DID but with some differences, such as having less distinct parts or no amnesia between parts (OSDD-1), or experiencing identity disturbance due to prolonged coercive persuasion (OSDD-2). Depersonalization involves feeling detached from oneself, while derealization creates a sense that the external world is unreal or distant. Many people also experience milder forms of dissociation such as emotional numbing, feeling "spaced out," or struggling with gaps in memory or awareness.

Our approach to treating dissociative disorders begins with education about dissociation's protective function and normalization of your experiences. Treatment focuses on developing awareness of dissociative patterns, building skills to ground and orient to the present, gradually processing underlying traumatic material, and integrating dissociated aspects of experience into a more cohesive sense of self.

We utilize specialized therapeutic approaches including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM), parts work, somatic interventions, and EMDR adapted for dissociation. These approaches help address both the symptoms of dissociation and the underlying causes, always proceeding at a pace that feels manageable for your system.

Many clients find that as they learn to recognize their dissociative patterns and develop new coping strategies, they experience greater continuity of consciousness, improved present-moment awareness, and a stronger sense of integration and wholeness in their daily lives.
