"Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul." — Carl Jung
This philosophy serves as the foundation of Alissa Alexander's approach to counseling.
Alissa is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with more than five years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals navigating substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and recovery. She is dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel seen for who they are—not simply the challenges they face.
Believing that healing begins with authenticity, Alissa approaches therapy with empathy, curiosity, and genuine human connection. She strives to create a space where clients feel accepted, empowered, and supported as they reconnect with their strengths, clarify their values, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
Her clinical approach integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed, person-centered care. While she values the science behind effective treatment, she believes the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful tools for healing.
Known for her approachable style and authentic presence, Alissa challenges the idea that recovery has a certain "look." She is passionate about helping individuals discover that they are more than their addiction, trauma, or diagnosis, and that lasting recovery comes from embracing their authentic selves
